Long Way Back Home

It feels right in the dead of night
Paris town of smoky moonlight
In the land of a million cafes
My defenses slip away
I don’t know how long I’ll be
Sailin’ on this unknown sea
It’s such a long way back home
Crazy notions fill the air
I don’t know if I’ll ever get back
It’s such a long way back home
Back home baby’s still asleep
In my other world, Tennessee
She didn’t like it when I went away
I held her close but had to say
I don’t know how long I’ll be
Sailin’ on this unknown sea
It’s such a long way back home
Crazy notions fill the air
I don’t know if I’ll ever get back
It’s such a long way back home
From this window I can see
A brand new world of narrow streets
Maybe later I’ll make that call
And make my mind up once and for all
