I’m Sorry, Lord

I’m sorry, Lord
But I don’t watch the preacher man on channel five
But I know you’re alive
Within me

And I’m sorry, Lord
But I can’t make those hours on Sunday mornin’
You see, I’m workin’ late
The night before
For my kids, Lord

And I don’t walk the straight and narrow
But I try to stay in line
And when the world is on my shoulders
I know I slip sometimes

But I’m sorry, Lord
If I ain’t been the kind of man that I should be
But I believe
You hear me when I say

That I’m sorry, Lord
I know I’ve said it at least a million times before
But I want you to know
I really mean it, Lord

And I don’t walk the straight and narrow
But I try to stay in line
And when the world is on my shoulders
I know I slip sometimes

I’m sorry, Lord
If I ain’t been the kind of man that I should be
But I believe
You hear me when I say
I’m sorry, Lord
